Various and Sundry

  1. Kidzookie has his first loose tooth. He's excited. I feel old.
  2. I've made absolutely zero progress on the second draft of my story. Do I have to kill myself if I fail to deliver on a suicide pact?
  3. Now that I'm computing in the mobile world again, I don't use my office much. Kidzookie's almost of an age to use the computer anyway, and once that starts, I want it in a public part of the house. So I've relinquished my office. Wifezilla and I are going through the bonus room, clearing out all the shit I still haven't unpacked since we moved in, and getting ready to redecorate it as a rec room of sorts. That's hard fucking work, but it's been fun. I've found some shit I haven't seen in years. She's letting me have a beer fridge up there, so yay.
  4. I got a call the other day from the gummint about an old friend of mine I'd lost touch with. He got laid off from BEA the same time I did, and disappeared off the face of the earth. Evidently, he took a new career path and is getting signed on as a federal agent of some sort now. Guess I can stop worrying about him. Same day I found out my friend suyapi passed the bar and is all but officially a Law Talkin' Guy. So apparently if you know me, good shit's coming your way. Make sure you guys save a little of that good karma for me.
  5. Mario Kart Wii dropped today. The kidzookies and I have racked up some miles. Between Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and WoW, my marriage may be in danger.

I likes the organizing/cleaning, and I'm starting to feel better. If I ever wake up during normal people hours I'm coming over!

Beer fridge you say? I'm moving in. I'm sorry, you have no say in this.

Re: cleaning. I've actually been keeping my apartment fairly clean. Taking out the trash regularly, giving the bathroom a once over weekly. Still no dusting, but what are you going to do. I feel pretty good about it. It's nice to have things organized. Does this mean I'm growing up?

Oh, and about the suicide pact. I'm trying to convince Coyote to enter into a pact with me. I'll try to publish one of my stories if he applies to that writers workshop. Please to be applying peer pressure to him for said suicide pact.

I have things organized. They're just messy. But I know where all the shit I use is. Problem is, there's a bunch of shit that's been in boxes for lo, these many years. And that shit's going straight in the trash now.

Re: the suicide pact, I've thought about trying to beg you into our pacts, but I always come to the conclusion that you're much farther along than I am with the writing thing, discipline, blah blah blah. You're more than welcome if you can tolerate the pacts being at the level they are currently.

As for peer pressure to get Coyote signed up for the workshop, I'm with you. I'm withholding sex until he applies.

Hey, I'm all for these blood pacts. I actually really do want to submit some of my stuff, but I really need some people kicking me in the ass to do it. I'll take whatever motivation I can get for whatever writing aspect I can get.

And the jihad to get Coyote to apply for the workshop has begun. Now to recruit more members.

You're drafted, then, young man. The first part of this pact is up in a few days (and I'm getting more than a little jumpy), so you probably want to skip on that. The second half of the pact is to have a first draft of something new by 6/1/08. I suppose you can get a couple of days' head start if you like. I usually wait until a day or two before it's due, though. Procrastination, and all.

As for Coyote, I've been riding his ass about applying for the workshop all day. He's going to start deleting my emails unread pretty soon.

Just adding in my "you all must get motivated and do stuff, like Coyote you MUST apply!"

And for all those who don't know, I'm, um, not exactly a "motivated" kind of guy. But I might be motivated enough to kick you in the butt to get YOU to do something.

I'll do it you stinking heathens! Though this was not due to peer pressure as I acknowledge the existence of no peers.

Are you a god? /Gozer

This of course means that fett is noe obligated to write one (1) new first draft by June first AND submit at least one story for publication to my satisfaction and that Taco must double his current mansex efforts as they apply to me.

So be it.

1. I can live with subordinate pressure.

2. Yay, fett first draft!

3. I'm totally up to the mansex challenge, bitches. *stocks up on gatorade*

Hillery, I think we're gonna need more oil and tarps...

Unknown said...

I have at least 5 tarps, as for oil, I'll buy as much as it takes, just remember, I get to watch!

Unknown said...

That works out well because I like being watched.
